Summer Training with GoPro

Summer training is in full swing. It shows from the growing attendance at our Hills for Dinner running group. This video is a little taste of what we do every week at Cool Creek Park.

My Fit Livin’ teammate and training buddy Nick and I started this group back in February. The idea was to add a regular weekly run workout option to the calendar. It started with just the two of us for a couple week, then a couple others showed up, and now we are consistently around the 20 person mark. Nick is a big fan of November Project and so we take some inspiration from the huge following those guys have built.

We try to take at least a few photos each Thursday to highlight this group. This week I brought the GoPro out to capture the fun. Lately I have been enjoying the Quik app by GoPro. It’s truly a “quik” way to take footage from your GoPro and turn it into a short, fun video. I created this HFD highlight before I even left the park last night. It’s not the perfect video editor by any means, but in terms of getting something published fast it’s a great tool to have.

Here is another quick video I created on Memorial Day. Again, this was shot during a training run and I edited the video during a 1 mile cool down walk. It was published and online by the time I walked up my driveway.

Quik makes regular video posts less time consuming. So I plan to do more of these in between bigger video projects. I won’t post everyone here on the blog, so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow me on Instagram to see the latest.

These videos were created with this gear: GoPro Hero4 (http://amzn.to/2yjX0og) and stabilizing gimbal (http://amzn.to/2hkJqO3).

Cheers!
