9 Mile Run Commute on the Nickel Plate Trail

The kids are not in daycare. They haven’t been for a couple months now.

That’s 2020 for you I suppose.

In any case, that’s the reason I decide to try a new route on my run today. It starts with the errand I need to run.

There’s an odd bulge in a tire on my wife’s Honda. We don’t like it. Especially since we often drive with both of our kids along. It’s a poor decision to be wreckless ourselves, but simply not allowed with the little ladies in tow.

When you have a tire issue on the car it needs to be handled. And when the kids are home 100% of the day that adds another layer of difficulty to running little errands.

So rather than bother my wife to pick me up after I drop off the car, I decide to run home instead. Two birds with one stone, right? My thought exactly. And the car shop is almost exactly 15km from our house. Perfect for the weekly long run! Let’s bring the cameras . . .

If you’d like to learn more about the Noblesville section of the Nickel Plate Trail, check out this official FAQ from the city. As of now it looks like the timeline to finish it out is uncertain. Funding must first be obtained and only then will the design process begin (design of course being a big determinant of the time it takes to complete).

Ok, until next time – cheers!
